Griffin Mining Limited (“Griffin”or the “Company”) is extremely pleased to announce the results of the underground drilling programme completed at the Caijiaying zinc-gold mine to the end of December 2005.
Summary of best results:
- 8.80 metres @ 19.20 g/t gold & 7.35% zinc
- 9.65 metres @ 10.08 g/t gold & 10.11% zinc
- 22.7 metres @ 8.36 g/t gold & 6.44% zinc
- 10.20 metres @ 8.65 g/t gold & 5.04% zinc
- 11.55 metres @ 7.38 g/t gold & 8.34% zinc
- 6.20 metres @ 14.27 g/t gold & 13.96% zinc
- 9.50 metres @ 7.81 g/t gold & 6.97% zinc
- 5.00 metres @ 11.15 g/t gold & 4.67% zinc
- 5.45 metres @ 8.92 g/t gold & 10.17% zinc
The results show that there is an emerging gold resource within a larger zone of zinc mineralization, as was foreshadowed in the pre-mining studies. The majority of the high gold values sit below the level of current mining activity (the 1355 level) and will not be mined until later in the mining schedule. Ongoing investigations are continuing to try to define the controls on the gold distribution including research at the University of Tasmania in Australia.
The attached table lists the best intersections recorded to date within the whole of the Zone III drilling programme which fall within the Jin Long Lode, the first area for drilling up a mineable gold resource within Zone III.
